CDH

CDH is short for a condition known as congenital diaphragmatic hernia. It is a birth defect that occurs in approximately 1 in 2,000 to 3,000 births.

Gastrointestinal reflux – also known as GERD; occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) does not close properly and stomach contents leak back, or reflux, into the esophagus.

GBS – group B strep; can be passed from mother to baby during delivery; group B strep infection in the newborn is a serious and potentially life- threatening event.

Grams – measurement of weight; 1 pound=454 grams.
